Sheep Meadow
One of the famous green fields of central park located in West Side from 66th to 69th St.
Sheep Meadow is a lush, green meadow with a great view of New York City’s skyline.
From 1964 to 1934 herds of sheep grazed in this section of the park.
Sheep meadow is open from mid April through mid October. This perfect green grass meadow is perfect for social gathering, picnicking, sunbathing. Different types of trees from oak, elm, maple and plane trees border the edges of the Sheep Meadow. A former sheepfold located at the western edge was converted into a restaurant, “The Tavern on the Green”. With all the beautiful green fields the sheep meadow continues to attract many individuals from all different walks and ages of life.

More than 817 acres of the park was burned in a devastating fire, destroying the bird sanctuary. The park was repaired and restored with some areas still closed for public.
Millennium Park has a Cycle Center which is a heated and air conditioned indoor bicycle parking facility built by the city of Chicago and now sponsored by McDonald's hence now named as McDonald's Cycle Center.
The Botanical Building is one of the largest wood lath structures in the world. It has many tropical plants and exotic seasonal flowers in this lovely space. A Lily pond is situated to the south of this building.
