In the city of Los Angeles you have the Autry National Center which has the Museum of the American West, which was earlier known as the Autry Museum of Western Heritage. It is located in Griffith Park at 4700 Western Heritage Way; this is the place where the American West comes to life. The museum offers you a unique opportunity to discover exciting and inspiring stories of the people, cultures, and events that have shaped the legacy of the western region.
The Autry National Center is made up of two museums and the Institute for the Study of the American West. The original museum was founded in 1988 by actor and singer Gene Autry, his wife Jackie, and Joanne and Monte Hale which is now known as the Museum of the American West. In the early 2004, the Museum of the American West was merged with the Southwest Museum of the American Indian and the Women of the West Museum to form the Autry National Center.
The Museum of the American West provides an opportunity to relive the western myths of radio, movies and television. Explore the West through Billy the Kid, buffalo stampedes, snakeskin boots, cavalry charges, Colt firearms, the Oklahoma land rush, wagon trains, western movies and more. The Museum can be a learning experience to all the ages. The museum is open only during its operational time.

More than 817 acres of the park was burned in a devastating fire, destroying the bird sanctuary. The park was repaired and restored with some areas still closed for public.
Millennium Park has a Cycle Center which is a heated and air conditioned indoor bicycle parking facility built by the city of Chicago and now sponsored by McDonald's hence now named as McDonald's Cycle Center.
The Botanical Building is one of the largest wood lath structures in the world. It has many tropical plants and exotic seasonal flowers in this lovely space. A Lily pond is situated to the south of this building.
